Ella Bella is a ballet dancer, she goes to ballet class (in a way cool old theater which, um, most little ballerinas in the real world don't get to dance in! But a bit wordy in the text - it's a recent publication but the writing style is quite old-fashioned - and a few liberties taken with the story. Dancers learn through storybook themes, allowing our ballerinas the freedom to explore dance through imagination, movement and fun! Dress code includes ballet slippers and tap shoes as well as leotard and tights and boys wear soft pants and tshirts as well as ballet slippers and tap shoes. This would probably delight young children who are big fans of ballerinas and fairy tales, but I wasn't overtly impressed.

I mentioned in my review of Ella Bella Ballerina and the Nutcracker that I think these books make a good introduction to famous ballets. One of the latest trends in fiction (especially Young Adult fiction) is to take the fairy tales we grew up reading and reinvent them. Her teacher told her that she reminds her of Cinderella and so the ballet class danced to a Cinderella music the rest of the class. It has gotten to the point where I've memorized the questions they will ask about each page and can answer them before they even ask.The focus is really on giving the kids an awesome experience every week and building a love of ballet in each child.

I could have this book in my Libra ray of books in my classroom for kids to read during silent reading times. This beautiful book's final page describes the ballet Cinderella, with music by the great Russian composer, Sergei Prokofiev. If you are looking for a stanard, basic Italian meal with fast service, this restaurant will not disappoint. For stories about young people actually learning ballet, I'd recommend the Tallulah books - Tallulah's Tutu, Tallulah's Solo, etc. She believes that education, positive role models, hard work, and promoting the arts are crucial components to creating a better world in which children’s healthy development, friendship, and kindness prevail. From James Mayhew, the creator of the Katie series of books – featuring the hugely engaging Katie and making art an adventure for every child. Alone on the stage after class, Ella Bella opens Madame Rosa's magical musical box and is whisked off into the world of the Cinderella ballet.

It's certainly worth a read if you're looking for something full of imagination and lovely illustrations (and, hey, nothing wrong with that!There’s never a dull moment and we promise this will be the one that your doll looks forward to week after week.
