About this deal

Usability Update: The Mudmaster GWG-1000 has proven to be very popular, especially with customers in the United States and Europe who are looking for a very large and rugged outdoor watch.

Measuring Capacity: 24 hours, Measuring Unit: 1/100 second (for the first 60 minutes) 1 second (after 60 minutes) Hand shift feature (manual or auto (during altitude, barometric pressure, and temperature measurement)) Multiband 6 (Automatically adjusts time settings based on reception of one of six time calibration signals around the globe: Japan (2), China, United States, England, Germany.)This is the simplest function to explain. The temperature mode is selected by pressing the left lower button until the small hand in the subdial is at the Temp position. The temperature sensor measures the outside temperature between -10 and +60 degrees Celsius (or Fahrenheit if selected). But… The most accurate measurement on outside temperature I got, not wearing the watch. And this is logical since your wrist influences the measurement just by wearing the watch. The compass in the Mudmaster is a fairly decent one. You get to it by pushing the big button on the top right. The North is shown by the second hand. The bearing is shown in the small lcd-screen in the dial. Again: reading it is not that easy. Good thing about the compass is that I can calibrate it for an accurate measurement. The process is explained clearly in the manual. But… in the outdoors I find it not as usable as a normal handheld compass or some other outdoor watches I have. It would be cleverer to use the hands as the pointer for the bearing. The compass can be calibrated and also the magnetic declination can be set. Outdoors I find the compass on the watch not as usable as a normal handheld compass. Altimeter & barometric pressure The watch's dial is illuminated by a LED light and is protected by a sapphire crystal, which as per Casio cannot be scratched. It also ensures high visibility under virtually any conditions imaginable. During my usage, I did not struggle to read the information on dial, however the intensity of the light is quite low. It is not even able to light up half of the dial, which is a bit low-down. Radio-controlled Watch; Multi band 6 (additional way for time sync. This watch receives time calibration radio signals that keep the displayed time accurate) Auto receive up to six* times a day (remaining auto receives canceled as soon as one is successful)

What we like in GWG-1000 *comments by experts with 10years experience in writing about Casio watches Side note: Thermometer not measuring accurately is the most common complaint about the Mudmaster and other Triple Sensor watches. So keep in mind that you can't expect accurate readings from a sensor that's been warmed up by your wrist and you'll be fine. Altimeter / Barometer Phew. Those aren’t the really clever bits though. An in-built sensor is also able to give altitude, barometric and temperature readings. The watch measures barometric pressure, which is converted to relative altitude, measuring from -700 to 10,000m (-2,300 to 32,800ft) within a range of 1 metre or 5 feet. The watch also measures ambient air pressure and presents this on a display to indicate weather patterns (whilst also recording specific pressure in hectopascals or inches of mercury, for all you avid meteorologists out there). The thermometer can measure air temperature from -10°C to 60°C (14°F to 140°F). Lastly, a direction sensor detects magnetic north, displaying both this and your current direction on the watch face, in compass points and degrees.Pressing the lower right button activates the altimeter but only if the small hand in the subdial points towards the top. If it doesn’t you have to push the lower left button to get to it. This is also the button that you push to get the small hand in barometric pressure mode. The altitude or barometric pressure, appear in the tiny lcd-screen. And again: not very easy to read at a glance. In the altimeter mode I can choose the interval I want the watch to measure – calculate – the altitude: 5 seconds or every 2 minutes. The altimeter has a range up to 10.000 meter. In Baro the lcd-screen shows the barometric pressure and weather trend. It’s a striking watch. This thing can survive just about any type of beating you can throw at it, and it looks the part. The GWG-1000, in particular, is one of Casio's peak achievements in 30 years - a historic watch in the progress of the brand. The host of smart little functions that'll keep the geek in you happy (like moving the hands out the way to view digital screens, for example). Auto Light: The watch face will illuminate automatically when you tilt your wrist towards you. Once activated, this feature will automatically deactivate after six hours. Vibration Resistant (lets to stand up to wear while operating cutters, crushers, drills and other heavy machinery to clear way large obstacles)

Sunrise and Sunset times are displayed for your chosen location. Ideal for planning outdoor activities. Official Casio Description. This new MUDMASTER model was created especially for this whose work takes it into areas where piles of rubble, dirt, and debris are present. The lower-left button on the left opens the list of the features on the watch's LED strip, which you can access or customize with the help of upper-left button. The list of features includes timer, stopwatch, alarm, atmospheric pressure, temperature, etc. The thermometer can give readings in either Celsius or Fahrenheit. So… it is bulletproof for your outdoor adventures and the buttons are usable with cold hands and even with gloves. Remains the question: how good is its outdoor functionality? Before I have a clear answer on this, I need to talk a bit more about the barometer, the altimeter and the compass and the Triple Sensor. Triple sensorUPDATE (August 24): Casio America announced the release of the Mudmaster GWG1000-1A3 and GWG1000-1A9 and stated the Mudmaster is part of the Master of G line. Does everything it says it can and then does more a truly awesome watch. Great service and reviewed my new watch lightning fast I would definitely recommend and would shop here again. What can I say just perfect from start to getting my Mudmaster, perfect transaction, absolute 10/10 for Watcho, if I could give more I would, cannot thank you enough Watcho, have been craving this time piece for a while, and you made it happen, Thank you again. Tough Movement (A CASIO-original thin analog movement made possible by hybrid mounting protects against damage and enables auto home position correction that helps keep you on time all the time) Besides looks, the Gulfmaster also comes with moon and tide graph features which the Mudmaster doesn't have. Like Mudmaster, there are two versions of the Gulfmaster available – premium GWN-1000B and the more affordable GN1000B-1A - with similar feature differences (Twin/Triple Sensor, No Solar/Tough Solar, etc.). Mudmaster vs. Gravitymaster

Casio has provided all the information on the dial itself, making it easy to access the watch features without any struggle. daily alarmscan be set to givean acoustic signal. This model has 5 independent alarms for flexible reminders of important appointments This new MUDMASTER model was created especially for this whose work takes it into areas where piles of rubble, dirt, and debris are present. A built in Barometer monitors incoming weather fronts and alerts of sudden drops in pressure to get cover before storms. Thermometer & sun rise/set modes work alongside the watches triple sensor to keep you up to date on your surroundings. A look at GWD- 1000 will immediately tell you that it is indeed built up with high quality material (Steel and Resin) and you would love to sport it on your wrist. The watch comes with an armoured tool casing, which makes GWD-1000 look like a 'Hummer' to the world of 'Beetle' sized smartwatches.Do these smart features work? Yep, mostly. Once you calibrate the compass, it’s impressively accurate, and the barometer does a good job of telling you whether pressure is rising or dropping, a good indicator as to whether bad weather is likely to move in. The altimeter is best used as a guide rather than an absolute – it didn’t always correspond with the spot heights of an OS map. And you need to take the watch off and leave it somewhere (preferably shady) for around 20 minutes if you want a reliable temperature reading – otherwise the sensor simply seems to tell you how warm or cool the surface of your skin is. It is also equipped with a triple sensor that displays information on orientation, atmospheric pressure/altitude, and temperature. High visibility is also ensured via large indices with Arabic numerals, a double LED light, and a wind-proof sapphire glass crystal. Powered by any light source, saving time and money as no battery change required- known as TOUGH SOLAR
