About this deal

It has a quiet wisdom that has resonated with readers and I’m always delighted to see a book about meditation, mindfulness and compassion in the book charts. Overall a very good quality service from this seller and I would not hesitate to recommend this seller.

As someone who meditates, and continues to have an attachment to thought, this is something I can very much relate to. What he did was go on tour and talk, without notes, about his life and his beliefs and his practice.I personally I enjoyed the book because I wanted a look a that process behind his antics, and learn more about him as a person. After working as an economist, he gives up his promising career to spend 17 years as a forest monk in Thailand and in this book shares what he has learnt in that time. Based on this account of his life, God walked next to him, and talked through him, and Bjorn describes here what that was like. They cannot handle money, so they rely on alms from the generosity of the public, which means they eat anything that people donate. A lot of suffering comes from the illusory belief that we can control our trajectory, and also from the avoidance of pain/death.

It is honest and heartwarming, charting the highs and lows of a young man who ordains for 17 years in a very austere tradition and his inner transformation. It’s a gift to be able to rest in trust when life becomes uncertain, to be comfortable with not knowing. The word “responsibility” just sounds like something we must do or carry no matter what, regardless of who we are, how we feel or think. I made lots of highlights throughout this book - sentences and paragraphs that I want to go back to, to re-read and think more deeply about. Barkley also goes on a long tirade about NBA owners not trying to win championships because they are making good money either way.

I wish his observations in here were expanded, but it’s designed (for better or for worse) to be a quick read. We follow him through his years in Thailand, pre-monk, monk-in-training, full-monk, and then his years in 'forest monasteries' outside of Thailand. Infusing the everyday with heart and grace, I May Be Wrong is an audiobook to help us all navigate the realities of modern life. Infusing the everyday with heart and grace, this is a wise and soothing handbook for dealing with life's challenges. He also discusses the NBA draft and how the team with the highest picks are most in need of help and how high school players really don’t help teams much for 3 years. As this novel was penned by a successful corporate executive who had been dissatisfied with his professional life for a while, it will appeal to those questioning why their career is not enough. How do we have room to carry more and heavier things when all our lives – since the moment we are aware we are conscious – we have been weighed down and scarred by so much? If there’s one thing Charles Barkley knows, it’s the crying need for honest, open discussion in this country—the more uncomfortable the subject, the more necessary the dialogue.
